Daily Graphic Novel Recommendation 176

Safari Honeymoon

by Jesse Jacobs
Genre notes: safari, adventure, class struggle, parasites, telepathic monkeys
80 pages
ISBN: 1927668042 (Amazon)

This is kind of a bizarro adventure. Two newlyweds and their gourmet chef-slash-guide-slash-protector spend their days in an utterly foreign and magical environment. The art is both spare and hyper-detailed simultaneously. The whole thing is coloured in about four shades of green. Very lush, very strange. Sits in the less political, more imaginative stream of alt-comix. And more grounded than, say Deforge.

Good Ok Bad features reviews of comics, graphic novels, manga, et cetera using a rare and auspicious three-star rating system. Point systems are notoriously fiddly, so here it's been pared down to three simple possibilities:

3 Stars = Good
2 Stars = Ok
1 Star = Bad
